Photographer Permits

The Bunker Hill Covered Bridge, Harper House / Hickory History Center, and Historic Murray’s Mill make beautiful backdrops for family, graduation, prom, wedding, and other photos.

We are a nonprofit, and we ask that photographers become a Photographer Member to help support the sites. An annual Photography Membership is $100 per year and grants access to the grounds of all properties (it does not guarantee inside access). If you prefer, one-day site passes may be purchased for $60 per day.

Photography policy

Site closures for maintenance and special events may prevent access, so you are required to notify us of your intended usage to confirm availability. Staff may or may not be present, so keep your membership card with you. Photography inside any location requires staff to be present and scheduled in advance. Flash photography is not allowed inside the historic Harper House, and the barn at Murray’s Mill is private property and off-limits to all photography.

Property fixtures may not be relocated; movable items such as trash cans must be returned afterward. Use of decorative items is contingent on cleanup by the photographer (e.g. confetti/glitter). Those who do not adhere to these guidelines, or who damage HACC or private property, will forfeit membership and photography privileges. HACC is not liable for equipment damage or personal injury, and photographers are responsible for any property damage.

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PHOTOGRAPHING ON ANY HACC PROPERTY including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault. I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the property owners to serve as protection from injuries to myself and any photography models. This waiver also holds me responsible for any damage to the property on which I am present. In consideration of my application and permitting me access, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows: (A) I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur at HACC property. (B) I INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity or event, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise. I acknowledge that HACC and their directors, staff, and volunteers are NOT responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific event or activity on behalf of HACC. The accident waiver and release of liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT, AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT AND I SIGN IT OF MY OWN FREE WILL.
